County Sheriff

— Loud ATVs were reported operating in a yard and a roadway on Mick Road in Yellow Creek Township at 12:12 a.m. Saturday. Deputies met with the man who said there is no noise ordinance and he can do what he wants on his property. Deputies warned him that if he was creating an annoyance or alarm for his neighbors he could be cited with disorderly conduct. He continued to argue with deputies. Others at the party told deputies they were leaving anyway.

— A vehicle was reported with the doors all open at Roseland Commons at 2:51 a.m. Wednesday. Deputies found the doors closed, but the vehicle unlocked with personal property inside. The owner lives in the complex and told deputies she had just checked her vehicle and shut the doors before they arrived. She then locked the vehicle.

— Deputies checked at a West Main Street, Salineville, home at 5:04 a.m. Saturday after a 911 call was made from the address. The residents said there was no emergency and the phone number the call came from did not belong to anyone there.

— A pregnant woman was reportedly walking along state Route 9 in Butler Township, having contractions at 4:01 a.m. Wednesday. Winona EMS and KLG arrived and checked on her. She was not in distress and she was given a ride to a home in Salem to get her off the roadway for the night.

— An assault was reported at a state Route 154, Elkrun Township address at 9:18 a.m. Tuesday. Deputies responded to the Frola but the victim was not interested in pursuing charges.

— An abandoned vehicle was checked on Churchill Road at 10:34 a.m. Aug. 17. The owners were contacted to remove it.

— A North Pleasant Drive, Unity Township, woman reported at 3:58 p.m. Tuesday her trash can was missing. There were several on the roadway, but hers was not there.

— A Knox School Road, Minerva, woman reported someone called claiming to be from Amazon and that someone in Texas was using her account. The caller had her Social Security number and was asking other questions. Because she did not have an Amazon account, she hung up on them.

— A Morris Road, Elkrun Township, man reported at 2:23 p.m. Monday someone jacked up his car by the passenger side and cut off his catalytic converter sometime overnight. The car, a 2006 Buick, was still jacked up with a block behind the rear wheel.

— A Sleepy Hollow Street, Leetonia, resident reported at 6:03 a.m. Aug. 20, there was a loud commotion at the neighbor’s home. They left before deputies arrived. The neighbor does not live there and the house is empty. It was possible someone was looking at the house.

— A Clarks Mill Road, Salineville, man reported at 1:10 p.m. Aug. 9 someone entered his unlocked, detached garage and took a bunch of tools.

— A state Route 154, Elkrun Township, man reported at 10:05 a.m. Wednesday sometime overnight someone stole a catalytic converter off of his truck.

— A Teegarden Road, Hanover Township, woman reported at 8:35 a.m. Wednesday she received a ticked for driving under OVI suspension from the highway patrol, but she never had an OVI. She previously lost her wallet and was concerned someone was using her identity. The ticket was resolved when it was determined there was a miscommunication with the information from the BMV.

— A Steubenville Pike resident reported at 8:51 a.m. Wednesday her neighbors’ dogs bark constantly, however, deputies stayed in the area in front of the home and there was no barking at that time.

— A state Route 518, Madison Township, man reported at 11:49 a.m. Sunday someone threw a brick through the passenger window of his vehicle at sometime overnight.

East Liverpool

— A welfare check was conducted at 1:40 p.m. Saturday for a subject lying in the alley by Milligan’s Hardware.

— Two vehicles, a blue Pontiac G6 and a blue Chevrolet Cobalt, were towed at 7:13 p.m. Saturday in the 700 block of Burford Street.

— A fight was reported at 2:38 a.m. Saturday in the 600 block of St. Clair Avenue in front of Lena’s Lounge.

— Officers responded at 9:16 p.m. Sunday in the 1000 block of May Street for a welfare check on a 3-year-old.

— A Bank Street woman reported at 6:50 p.m. Sunday that her license plate was stolen off her vehicle.

— Dana Inherst, no address listed, was taken into custody 11:39 a.m. Monday in the 600 block of Lincoln Avenue on a warrant.

— Police responded at 9:22 a.m. Monday in the 300 block of Haywood Street to investigate a complaint about a pig on her property within city limits. No contact could be made with the subject.

— An officer responded at 12:37 p.m. Monday to the Broadway Wharf for a call regarding threats.

— Police responded at 12:13 a.m. Wednesday to the area of Blackmore and Henry for a shots fired investigation.

— An officer responded at 11:58 a.m. Wednesday in the 400 block of Ogden Street to remove an unwanted subject.

— A lost wallet was reported at 10:04 a.m. Wednesday in Thompson Park.

— Police removed a male subject at 10:18 a.m. Wednesday from a home in the 600 block of East Fifth Street.

New Waterford

— Officers were called to a residence on Creek Road multiple times the past week regarding telecommunications harassment and potential fraud. Officers were also contacted August 15 regarding an intoxicated woman who would not leave the residence.

— Officers responded to a residence on East Main Street Monday regarding a neighbor raising chickens on their property.

— Officers responded to a Taylor Avenue residence Monday regarding a neighbor dispute involving tree branches hanging over the neighbors property.

— A dog running at large was returned to its owner August 9.

— Officers helped with a vehicle lockout Thursday evening.

— Christian L. Plunkett of East Palestine was cited for driving under suspension and speeding Friday evening after a traffic stop. Plunkett was also taken into custody on an active warrant through the county.

— Officers determined a report of telecommunications harassment from a resident on Pinewood Drive Friday night did not contain enough evidence for criminal charges.

— Police responded to an East Main Street address regarding a no contact order Sunday and discovered no violations had taken place.

— Officers met with a resident to discuss a civil matter Tuesday evening.

Salem

— A woman in the 500 block of Continental Drive reported at 12:39 a.m. Thursday that bank statements and frozen meals were stolen from her apartment.

— Police were called at 11:06 p.m. Wednesday to the 100 block of South Union Avenue for a person to be removed. A tenant was supposed to be evicted the day before. The tenant said he was aware and would leave with his belongings in the morning.

— A caller at 8:50 p.m. Wednesday reported a person in distress near the railroad tracks at South Ellsworth Avenue. The person was visibly upset and taken to the hospital for evaluation.

— A West Seventh Street caller at 8:35 p.m. Wednesday reported phone harassment from a family member who he had an altercation with earlier in the week.

— Police were called at 6:35 p.m. Wednesday to the 800 block of West State Street for suspicious persons. A woman advised that while making a social media marketplace transaction, she spotted a man with a knife near the attempted seller. Officers spoke to all involved. The man with the knife was not associated with the seller, but was cutting flowers while in season.

— A Maple Street woman at 4:24 p.m. Wednesday reported hearing noises in the attic. An officer checked the residence and the attic but did not locate anyone.

— A woman met police in the Reilly School parking lot at 3:50 p.m. Wednesday to report her daughter lost her cell phone within the past hour and the phone tracked to the exit for Reilly onto Franklin. The phone was not found and several residences were checked, but residents advised of no cell phone.

— Police were advised at 3:18 p.m. Wednesday that two catalytic converters were removed off of a 2015 Ford truck in the 400 block of Legacy Lane.

— A woman on Continental Drive reported at 2:46 p.m. Wednesday that she received a bill from Spectrum but said she did not open an account with them. Spectrum told her she needed a police report to stop the account.

— Amanda Speigle, 31, East Perry Street, was charged with assault and taken to jail after she and a man came to the police station at 2:35 p.m. Wednesday to file a report. She was riding in the passenger seat of his car when they got into a argument and she struck him in the face. He had visible injuries.
